The direct answer
For three days, start with Explorer and the exact paid list.
Choose Explorer when two to four expensive landmarks—such as the Tower, London Eye, View from The Shard or Tower Bridge—already fit the route. Choose All-Inclusive when several paid attractions fit each selected day and their total standard gate value stays inside the product’s credit package. Buy direct tickets for a museum-, park- and neighborhood-led trip.
London pass comparisons are strong on price calculators and catalog breadth. The underexplained constraint is the interaction between free national museums, attraction duration and Go City’s current credit system. The theoretical maximum number of scans is not the same as a workable London day.
Trip Well Spent value grade
Explorer best protects a three-day route.
London passes compared
These official adult starting prices and structures were checked October 11, 2026. Go City promotions can change the checkout total; compare the same date and choice count.
| Product | Current headline | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Explorer | From £65 adult | Choose 2–7 from 76 current attractions; use within 30 days | Two to four selected landmarks |
| All-Inclusive | From £105 adult | Choose 1–10 days; 112 current attractions; duration-based credits | Dense paid-attraction days |
| Direct tickets | Varies | Reserve only the exact landmark and time wanted | Free museums, parks and neighborhoods |
| TfL pay as you go | Separate | Contactless or Oyster with applicable caps | Ordinary city transport |
The credit ceiling is real
Go City currently describes All-Inclusive as a credits package: one credit equals £1 of the attraction’s standard gate price. The published maximum is 305 adult credits for one day and 490 for two days, rising with duration. Most normal routes will not reach that ceiling, but “visit as many as you like” does not mean infinite gate value.

Match the pass to the trip shape
Three-choice Explorer
Compare the live three-choice price with exact direct tickets. This fits the three-day London route without forcing the museum day into pass math.
All-Inclusive
Use when the Tower, London Eye, Tower Bridge, cruise and another included visit form a believable sequence—not a spreadsheet sprint.
Direct tickets
London’s national museums change the baseline. Buy the Tower or Churchill War Rooms directly and keep the rest unbundled.
Explorer after geography
A distant inclusion can be valuable, but it consumes a large part of a day. Count it only when that day trip or stadium tour already belongs.
Three honest break-even examples
Trip 01 · classic three
Tower of London, London Eye and View from The Shard
Explorer can be strong because all three are expensive and fit separate route moments. Confirm slots first; the pass does not make a sold-out time appear.
Trip 02 · paid river day
Tower, London Eye, Tower Bridge and a cruise
All-Inclusive can work if opening hours and walking order align. Do not add a sightseeing bus that duplicates the route simply to increase the claimed saving.
Trip 03 · London’s free depth
British Museum, National Gallery, V&A and parks
Skip the pass and reserve only one paid historic site or show. The route is already full.
Reservations and standard gate values matter
A pass provides admission under the current rules, not a universal walk-up guarantee. Compare the exact direct product—standard, guided or premium—with what the pass actually supplies. A £56 sightseeing bus has no £56 value if you would otherwise use an £8.90 capped transit day.
| Friction | Why it changes value | Better move |
|---|---|---|
| Timed landmark | Preferred inventory can disappear | Confirm the pass booking path first |
| Credit package | Standard gate values reduce the duration ceiling | Check credits for the selected pass |
| Free museum | Excellent visit adds no pass saving | Protect it outside the paid count |
| Bus or cruise | May duplicate ordinary movement | Count only if wanted as an experience |
How to calculate London pass value fairly
- Write the paid landmark list before opening the catalog.
- Keep free museums out of the pass day.
- Use the direct price for the same visit type and time.
- Confirm reservation inventory and instructions.
- For All-Inclusive, check the duration’s maximum credits.
- Assign sightseeing transport only the value it replaces or genuinely adds.
- Price ordinary TfL travel separately.
