The direct answer
Choose the category before the brand.
Choose the Paris Museum Pass for a museum- and monument-heavy route. Choose Go City Explorer for three to seven selected attractions such as an Eiffel stairs visit, Seine cruise or bus tour—but not the Louvre. Choose Go City All-Inclusive when both a broad attraction list and the included Museum Pass fit a dense two- or three-day plan.
Paris pass comparisons often present every card as a substitute for every other card. They are not. Museum access, commercial attractions and local transport solve different problems. Comparing prices before separating those jobs produces false break-even math and, worse, a route built around redemptions rather than Paris.
Trip Well Spent value grade
The Museum Pass best fits a museum-heavy first trip.
Paris passes compared
These official adult headline prices and structures were checked October 11, 2026. Promotions, eligibility rules and temporary closures can change.
| Product | Current headline | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Go City Explorer | €84 adult / 3 choices | Choose 3–7 from 36 current attractions; use within 30 days | Selected tours, cruise and Eiffel-type extras |
| Go City All-Inclusive | €199 adult / 2 days | 83 current attractions plus Paris Museum Pass across purchased days | Broad, high-intensity sightseeing |
| Paris Museum Pass | €85 / 48 hours | 50+ museums and monuments; also €105 / 96h and €125 / 144h | Museums and monuments |
| Direct tickets | Varies | Reserve only chosen sights and time slots | One museum, one viewpoint, street-led trip |
The Louvre test
Go City Explorer does not currently include the Louvre. Go City All-Inclusive includes a Paris Museum Pass, and the standalone Museum Pass covers Louvre admission, but pass holders still need a timed reservation through the Louvre’s official process. Check current access rules before purchase.
Check the live Go City list
Price the attractions that are not museums.
Explorer and All-Inclusive currently list the Eiffel Tower stairs, Big Bus and a Seine cruise. All-Inclusive adds the Museum Pass and broader catalog. Confirm exact times, reservations and operating dates.

Match the pass to the trip shape
Paris Museum Pass
Use it when enough covered sites fit a continuous window without reducing each visit to a scan. The official provider says savings usually begin around the fourth to sixth visit, depending on duration.
Go City Explorer
Choose the smallest count matching the exact list. It can complement the three-day Paris route, but it does not solve Louvre admission.
Go City All-Inclusive
Use only when both halves—Museum Pass and commercial attractions—would be bought independently. €199 creates a high but possible break-even bar.
Direct tickets
Skip every bundle. Paris streets, parks and neighborhoods already fill the route; buy only the scarce anchors.
Three honest break-even examples
Trip 01 · museum concentration
Louvre, Orsay, Arc and two smaller covered sites
Compare the 48-hour Museum Pass with exact direct admission and any eligibility for free entry. Keep the Louvre slot and weekly closures at the center of the sequence.
Trip 02 · classic extras
Eiffel stairs, Seine cruise and Big Bus
Explorer may simplify this three-choice list. Compare the exact product tiers and times you would buy directly; a bus has value only if it replaces transport or adds commentary you want.
Trip 03 · Paris on foot
Louvre, Montmartre, the Seine and neighborhood meals
Reserve the Louvre directly and skip the pass. Much of the day’s value is un-ticketed, and ordinary transit remains separate anyway.
Continuous hours and reservations matter
The Museum Pass is sold in 48-, 96- and 144-hour periods, not a loose count of calendar visits. Activate it at the first covered site when a dense sequence is ready. Go City product timing follows its own rules. None of these products should be confused with an RATP transit fare.
| Friction | Why it changes value | Better move |
|---|---|---|
| Louvre reservation | Pass ownership does not create a time slot | Reserve through the official pass-holder portal |
| Weekly closure | A museum sequence can collapse | Check each official calendar |
| Continuous duration | Early activation can waste the final hours | Start at the first dense museum block |
| Transit | No ordinary ride value is included | Price RATP separately |
How to calculate Paris pass value fairly
- Separate museums, commercial attractions and transit into three lists.
- Check age, residency or other eligibility for free or reduced museum admission.
- Build the route around closures and scarce reservations.
- Use the exact direct price and product tier for each wanted visit.
- Count only sites that fit the product’s real time window.
- Remove filler visits and duplicate views.
- Price ordinary transit separately.
